Ubisoft will soon be expanding its horizons by opening a brand new studio in the Philippines. This will be their second Southeast Asian studio, with the first being in Singapore. The Philippines-based studio will be opening in the second quarter of 2016. Their first goal:to hire 50 employees in their first year.

Ubisoft has big plans for its studios in Southeast Asia. We can see how this will pan out by looking at how successful the Singapore studio has been: they have 300 employees! Ubisoft announced that this studio will concentrate on producing AAA console games.

Ubisoft's Philippines studio will be located on the campus of De La Salle University in Santa Rose Languna. It will be managed by a long-term staff member from Singapore, Chip Go. This move will be bringing a lot of skill out into the Philippines for Ubisoft.
